Vigna Madre - Madrema

Vigna Madre is the work of the Di Carlo family, winegrowers in Abruzzo since 1830. In the early 1990s, Giannicola Di Carlo took the estate down a pioneering path, converting the entire production to organic farming and making Vigna Madre one of the first certified organic wineries in Italy.

The vineyards sit in a privileged position between the Adriatic Sea and the Apennine mountains, where coastal breezes and mountain air combine to give the fruit both ripeness and freshness. The estate's approach — what they call "Productive Humanism" — treats farming as a bridge between people and the land: bio-ethical, sustainable practices, close attention at every stage from vineyard to cellar, and a deep respect for Abruzzo's native grape varieties.

The Madrema line captures that philosophy in the glass — organic, largely vegan-certified wines built entirely on Abruzzo's own grapes: Trebbiano, Pecorino and Montepulciano d'Abruzzo.
